With my 3 year old in tow, Mommy and Bethany headed off 4000 miles from home to go to Toni & Guy Academy in Dallas Texas!

The start of it all.....

Everyone has a story and this is mine..

Deciding to take charge of my future and not letting failure be an option was hands down the best choice I’ve ever made! It was scary, but I trusted my gut and did what I needed to do to give my daughter and myself the best life possible.

I’m a big believer in the saying, 'Feel the fear and do it anyway.

"I was 24, a single mom, and I made the crazy decision to sell everything I owned, including my new car, to move to Dallas and attend one of the top hair schools in the world. I had no money, no child support, and didn’t know a soul. But when I commit, I’m all in—so going to the best school felt like the only way to really get good at the career I chose. (I had no idea just how hard it would be, though!)

Walking into the Toni & Guy Academy for the first time, I knew my life was about to change. It was a whole new world compared to the small-time shampoo sets and men’s clipper cuts I grew up seeing in my little Hawaii town. This was REAL. This was COOL. This was BADASS.

Right then and there, I decided I was going to be one of the best students they’d ever seen, no matter what. I was going to finish and become a Rich Hairdresser!

And wow, what a ride it’s been!! :)"

Using My Skills

I learned from the best, and started using those skills to build my Brand & my Business

To this day I am still working as a world class colorist on the east coast, by way of Los Angeles & Hawaii, and I have traveled around the U.S. perfecting my skills throughout my career… Specializing in Highlights and Blonding, my training includes training from Toni & Guy in Dallas and LA, extensive training at Vidal Sassoon in LA, Paul Mitchell in San Diego & Hawaii, Redken in New York, L'Oreal in New York, Yuko Systems in Beverly Hills, Beth Minardi in Chicago and mentored by many celebrity hairdressers during my career.

In my 30+ year career, I have owned 8 profitable hair salons and have 5 licenses in 5 different states in the US, (just got my florida license) I have built and rebuilt my clientele in many different locations and demographics.

I believe that education is the key to success and I have always put my education above everything.

This picture is me in my second salon in Hawaii..  I flew to Newport Beach to have it professionally designed from Takera Belmont.

This salon is where I started making real money.  This is where I took the training and education I got from Toni & Guy's original Art Team, Vidal Sassoon's Art Team in Santa Monica, and all my other training and really started to hone in on my niche and my talents.

This is when I became a 100k+ stylist 2-1/2 years after graduating. (back then, that was a lot of money) This is when building my brand really started paying off. I was asked to be a partner at Toni & Guy in Honolulu at Ala Moana Center, one of the highest earning malls in the world (before T&G started franchising) I was asked to join the Jose Eber Team in Bal Harbor in Miami, I was asked to join a prestigious salon in Fashion Island in Newport Beach (which I accepted).

I really had come a long way from the days of being broke and alone in hair school..

This is also when I started apprenticing girls and giving them careers and making an impact in the lives of hairdressers around the country.

Even though I was crushing it doing hair, I’ve always found so much joy in teaching and training other hairdressers to be successful. It seriously makes me so happy to see them succeed!

Belief in Yourself

I know what its like to struggle

I know struggle.  I've been there.  I was a single mother with no money, an abusive boyfriend and all alone in a strange city going to hair school…

I know what it takes to push through the obstacles and reach my dreams of becoming a Rich Hairdresser…

Whatever you are going through in this business, I bet I have been there at some point! :)

I have been a student, a commission stylist, a booth renter, suite owner, and a salon owner, and I know what it takes to become a Rich Hairdresser.

I want to help as many hairdressers as I can before I retire and forget everything that is in my head…. All the tricks, all the techniques, and all the ambition & the mindset it took to get where I am…

When I saw that the industry was missing someone who could teach hairdressers with practical usable advice and education, I knew that it was my calling.

A lot of people teaching online right now don’t have the same experience or knowledge that I do. Many of them aren’t even successful hairdressers or salon owners, and they’ve never actually had real success in our industry. Most of them are just marketers trying to sell stuff to hairdressers without any real understanding of what it takes to make it in this career.

I was thinking about what I wish I would have had when I was first starting out…. What would I have liked for someone to teach me or show me or explain to me about the industry to make it easier for me…...

I have always apprenticed girls over my 30 years, and gave them amazing careers and taught them how to change their lives, so I just thought I would do this on a grander scale now and help more hairdressers reach their dreams….

So here we are :)

Be An Entrepreneur

I want all hairdressers to become an entrepreneur

"I've spent most of my life as an entrepreneur, and I firmly believe that everyone, including hairdressers, should have multiple streams of income. Empowering fellow hairdressers to become entrepreneurs in their own right and take control of their financial futures is a passion of mine. Much of my training focuses on elevating the mindset and confidence of my students and peers, helping them reach their full potential with a clear sense of purpose and ambition."

My goal is to encourage you into “making it” beyond what you thought possible, and to show you the difference between just working doing hair as a J O B , to being Your Own Boss, Controlling Your Own Career, and having Financial and Personal Freedom in the salon industry and beyond.

Hard work & Dedication

Life is funny..... Hard work and dedication really do pay off

It is true what they say... You get what you give.. If you give it your all and you are relentless in your pursuit of your goals and dreams it will happen!

"I’ve known since my daughter was a little girl that I wanted her to follow in my footsteps and do hair. I knew I wanted to teach her how to earn her own money and develop a skill that no one could ever take away from her. I'm passionate about empowering women to be financially independent and capable of supporting themselves and their families if needed.

My daughter has been working and training with me since she was 15, though she essentially grew up in my salons. She’s done it all—running front desks, managing staff, leading our assistant programs—and now she’s a salon owner, a brilliant blonde specialist, a nail tech, and the creator of her own organic product line.

Bethany has even used her experience as a model in New York Fashion Week to elevate her brand and services the way most of us can't.

That little 3 year old I brought 4,000 miles away from home to attend hair school has grown into an incredible part of the hairdressing world! It’s been such a joy to share this profession with her and work alongside her in our salons. I couldn’t be prouder of everything she’s achieved and the person she’s become. She's my greatest accomplishment & we love this industry! :)"

Everything has come full circle. My little Bethany & Bruno Mascolo (Toni & Guy Founder) at a Christmas party when she worked for Toni & Guy in Atlanta :) 2016

After being a model in New York Fashion Week, Bethany uses her modeling skills to promote her product line, help clients with the correct look for them, and teaches hairdressers and nail techs how to do marketing as a salon professional.

Bethany now has her own hair product line. This is a photo shoot she did with her purple shampoo:)
